Bad service from supplier

This shows you what to do if you don't get the service you paid for.

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/wedding-photos-made-me-look-like-i-have-no-teeth-bride-tells-court-29754998.html

The thing here for me is that the story itself is not isolated, many times on here Ive read of this happening. In this case its a photographer but it could be anything.

Id understand it if a guy said "Im sorry I had a power outage which fried my hard disk after I copied the photos on to it, <or insert acceptable excuse> Id like to give you your money back and if its worth anything, offer you my services for free at another stage". what can you do there as the guy is genuine, excuse seems genuine and he wants to make up for it however hard that may be as the day is a one off.

But if the answer is unacceptable or the service you received is either through delay, non-response or bad delivery, seek restitution.

Always, always, always get a contract.

I've read things about that supplier on other forums.

Everyone is on a budget but cheap things are cheap for a reason. Photos and perhaps DVD are all you'll have after the dress is packed away and the bubbly drunk. Don't be taken in on price alone for them.

Still no real wedding picture though. The proper day will never be really photographed, they'll only have staged post fact wedding snaps.

yes, it'll never be as good as having it right in the first place. However, lots of peoples been on boards telling of their bad experiences but not getting any recourse at all...

This happens all too often these days.
Not near as bad as the info story but I had arranged to have a photographer- arranged price and times for shooting ( getting ready up until an hour after first dance)

I get a message- price has gone up for less work. The attitude he displayed towards me was awful and when I questioned why am I paying more for less I got a long message about processing and him getting home late- surely this all stood when we agreed initially. I would have been happy to pay the higher price had he not been so unprofessional in his demeanor but it's left a bad taste in my mouth.

The hunt begins again. I feel bad for people who get stung and the people who are doing the stinging should be punished.

Similar thing happened to us this year. Photographer was pretty much uncontactable for the weeks coming up to the wedding and then the night before, the bride gets a call to say he couldn't make it... Who does that?!!! Luckily a (probably better) photographer had contacted him (heard he was letting people down) and agreed to stand in on the day. It was a close call.
