Hi, just wondering has anyone ever had permanent make up done and were you happy with it? Specifically eyebrows. I'm getting sick of spending time colouring mine in with a pencil every morning and when I'm going out and am seriously considering it, but nervous all the same. Any feedback welcome!

A woman I work with got her eyebrows done. They are really well shaped and so are great in that respect but a little, just a shade or half shade too dark for her. As a result they really really stand out when she wears her hair pulled back from her face.
If you don't want to use a pencil every morning have you tried dying the brows to see what that works out like for you? I do that and it last very well for about 2 weeks. Then is wears off but I top it up with an eyeshadow with a brow brush until its time once again for threading and tinting.
I find the eyeshadow with the brush gives a more natural effect than using a pencil.

I wouldn't get it done. It can look very harsh and artificial and who knows how brow trends will change in the next 10-20 years? I know more than one woman desperately trying to regrow hers after years of overplucking, but that's what was fashionable in the 90's - 00's.

Why don't you get them tinted instead? a fraction of the cost and far less permenant.

Thanks for the replies. See that's what I'm afraid of, the "too dark" look. I have good shaped brows, with a decent bit of hair (almost white!), so if I got them tinted a shade too dark they would certainly stand out. I've had them tinted a few times alright, but again the problem is maintenance and making time to trek to the beautician... though I never thought of buying my own kit. I must look into that, it'd take some of the hassle out of it all alright. Thanks all

I know nothing about make up etc but I know people who have had this done and I think it can look very artificial and to be honest a little disturbing.

Just been on to the Elizabeth Oakes facebook site... I think they eyebrow shapes are really good. Saw the prices though... It's VERY expensive, so I think that's my decision made, and it's a no. I did a good job today with dark brown eyeshadow and a firm brush, but the time is still an issue.

I got my eyebrows 'done' about 6 years ago, the effect is gone now and they were expensive. They were however worth the extra I paid to go to a reputable place. They were too dark for a short period of time and then settle down very nicely. Would love to get them done again but can't afford to. PM me for the place i got them done if you'd like

A friend of mine got her eyebrows done plus eyeliner along the outer edge of the upper lids done in a Dundrum clinic, it looks great on her. The eyebrows are a perfect shape and the liner gives her eyes a subtle feline shape. She is totally happy with the results, she works as an air hostess so grooming & make up is very important to her, she reckons the permanent make up is the best thing since sliced bread cos she gets up at say 3am to work on a flight and her make up is already half done.
I would be tempted but have very fair & overplucked brows, when I get them tinted they can look massive & too dark for a couple of days, would be worried if the permanent make up had that effect for longer.

Ah I enquired about the lady in the centre, she is very expensive though. I am getting them done Thursday, if anyone is interested I can pm details

It is very expensive but well worth it IMO. The amount of photos I've seen on websites advertising semi permanent makeup where the eyebrows are positioned too high is shocking!!

I got mine done yesterday by a girl who is freelance and comes to you. She was lovely, confident, and did an amazing job. I cant believe how good they look. I had think angry looking ones and she made them a bit bigger and shaped them so nicely.
