Having had the pleasure of welcoming some of dance music’s most prestigious names over the past 12 months (Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Otto Knows to name a few, Residence is excited to announce the visit of Italian electro legend Benny Benassi. The industry stalwart will make his Residence bow Friday November 29th at the home of Residence, The Village on Wexford Street. Joining him on the night will be the Canada’s finest electro export Felix Cartal for his first Irish appearance.

Milan born Italian DJ/producer Benny Benassi – real name Marco Benassi – is widely regarded as one of the most charming, down to earth, internationally respected and treasured artists in the music industry. With over a decade to his illustrious career already, the chart-topping megastar has wholly managed to capture the hearts of multiple generations of dance music fans across the world with his flawless trademark tech/electro/house infused sounds and charismatic performance flair. Whether he’s behind the booth or in the studio, there’s never a dull moment when Benny’s around and even at age 46 he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Obviously no account of Mr Benassi’s star-spangled career could pass without special mention of the international hit single that was ‘Satisfaction’. Unleashed on the world back in 2002, this globally celebrated record catapulted Benny from a once humble dance act into a world-famous artist almost overnight. The record charted all over the world and made Benassi a name to be reckoned with on the international scene. His ensuing debut solo album ‘Hypnotica’ naturally followed suit, reaching Top 20 status in the Official Album Sales Chart in France and remaining there for over a month, peaking at #5.

2011 heralded his push to superstardom with a string of massive hits via his new LP Electroman. Alongside Kelis he produced the fantastic Spaceman. This was the first taster of an album that would define his sound. His next effort with Chris Brown – Beautiful People was a stone cold chart topper and allied with the wonderful Cinema propelled Benassi to the forefront of dance music. With the impending release of new Benassi tune ‘Back To The Pump’ it seems the time is right for him to make a rare Irish appearance. The Village is the venue and no doubt this will be a night to remember for the Residence faithful.

Joining Benny on the night will be Felix Cartal a Canadian producer who has been lighting up the dance music world since his initial break with his masterful EP The Joker which gained support from Benassi himself alongside Diplo, Laidback Luke and many more. His weekly podcast ‘The Weekend Workout’ has garnered a large following and he continues to stream out hard hitting electro house, his most recent effort Young Love garnering widespread praise.
