Would anybody like to share their experiences of remaining in Big 4 practice post qualification?
How many remain on and what is the average length of time they remain for?
Do many get to transfer abroad within their firm for a couple of years which is one of the big selling points of these companies?

Although this varies from year to year, on average 40% or less will stay on post contract and ultimately most of these will leave at manager levels leaving just about 5% who make it to year 7 and beyond.

Typically most longterm secondments are geared towards fully qualified people, and given most people qualify just prior to end of contracts only about 50% are eligible of which only a few are interested. However due to demand for accountants in Australia and North America, Cayman & Bermuda, many qualified accountants do end up in different locations as part of travel and work tour arranged individually
