Hi Lads have kind of lost touch with the new technology re the high powered torches. I lost a P7 a year ago and replaced it with a cheap and cheerful cree torch from deal extreme! Just wondering does anyone have any ideas if there is anything more up to date on the market that won't break the bank!

    Any opinions on these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200981760236?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

    Thanks

They're meant to be very good with the red LED out to 250+ yards. Im going getting one myself soon.

If you want something really cheap for 70-80 yard rabbit/fox shooting you can do so for a tenner.

    Firstly, buy the 501B torch.
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310525026317?clk_rvr_id=547900629819

Then screw out the lens and replace it with this more focused one from DX

    http://dx.com/p/glass-optics-for-flashlights-28mm-5297

This should pop straight in or might need a slight rub of sand paper around the edges (mine didnt)

The next thing you must do is when the torch arrives, take out the reflector and rub the silver down with sandpaper to dull it and spray it black.
Dont ask how but it works way better with the new lens

I shot a fox last weekend at about 60-70 yards with this and I could perfectly make out his body through the scope and he continued rooting away and took no notice to the Lamp.

Cookey on here posted a thread a few weeks ago bout the T20. There's lots of them getting used on UK forums.

I have roughly the same set up as garv123, my lens did need a rub of wet n dry paper to make it fit. I have a green and a red pill. The foxes really don't seem to see the red light and pay very little attention to the green also. The range is limited though.

Oh and I just roughed up the reflector and coloured it in with permanent marker rather than spraying it.

    hi,

them T20 torch re meant to be great(200-250yrds) but want see out bit more.."in above ebay link, guy mane is IAN,sound out to deal with"

.im getting a t20 converted to 66mm head ,red pill and remote pressure switch built @ the moment in the uk!

hopefully , have in the 10--14 days.... ":)"

recons, throw further and better than nightmaster800(with turbo head) which with all bits and bobs i want!!, is costing 260uk pounds....so i'l try this one first its, a good bit better priced as , ur man is building in spare time, has sold loads in uk and "highly rated" :)!!!

    new, light-force predator9x is o for around 230 meters,"using one @ moment"-pricey /light for what is at 300+euro!!!but,need filter and louse around 40% of light .... :(

    also one of these:

I have a slightly older model which is a really good light. Overkill for my .22lr. The above one has a newer LED and driver so is even brighter. For the money they can't be beaten for useable light down range.

Don't know if THIS in Aldi will be any good, but if it turns out to be a lemon it can always be brought back.

I got this and a cheap mounting off ebay for 2 or 3 euro. Light is very good especially for the price. Can perfectly make out a rabbit or fox around 100 yards or a bit more. I use it on my .22lr. Great little torch also for walking the feild lamping at night when i have the big lamp with me and trying to preserve the battery.

Aldi've carried those for the last few years (see here and here) and lads have found them to be damn good for the money. Picked up two of them this time around myself and for €13, it's a damn nice little torch.

I bought one for my daughter to use when we go camping in the summer and for general kids messing with torches use. On more than one occasion I have taken a loan of it. The only down side for me is the 3 x AAA batteries as all my torches use 18650's, apart from that they are a useful torch.
