    Hi

As title says shower is no longer working. I have attached pictures below as I'm not sure what part I should be removing to get replaced.

Shower was working fine - then wouldn't heat the water at all - totally cold. Left it for the rest of day. Tried again - water ran fine and good temperature. Left for 10 mins - Tried again and barely a trickle of water came out. Noise coming from the unit but not as loud as usual.

When I took the unit cover off - the cover was covered in a black dust (kinda like the kinds you get of a laserjet printer cartridge).

I want to bring the relevant part into an electrical shop beside me so they can test it but not sure what I should remove - any suggestions?

Impossible to say with just pictures but by the look of all the carbon deposits I would imagine the brushes are bucked, they are in the motor behind the black plastic cover.

Brushes gone I would think, set would cost about €20/€25

    HI

I took the cover away and there was a lot of the black dust. There was a coil of copper wire and behind that a kind of cog - i cleaned it it out and made sure it could move.

Replaced everything and it's now working! For how long I don't know but it's working!

Yeah - not working again!! It works fine - heat lovely and pressure but the noise from the unit sounds laboured and eventually it just goes cold and water down to a trickle.

Did you clean the armature of the motor, if not you would just make ****e of the new brushes.

Im assuming the power is off when you are checking this, Id do both at the consumer unit and the isolation switch just for some redundancy.
Did you see the brushes? how long are they?

Do you have a picture with the cover on? I originally had a triton T90 something or other in, I replaced the brushes, but I took out the whole motor armature and cleaned all the black dust off and from inside generally. It lasted another few years.

BE VERY CAREFUL to ensure there is no power present or that anyone will accidentally turn power on while you are looking/checking this.

Id recommend you check the inlet filter, clean it out, it might be blocked and could restrict flow, TURN OFF the water supply isolation valve before you do this. Maybe something got into the pump body and is restricting the pump? labouring the motor?
