Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum to post this in, so please move if it is inappropriate.

As a man in my every early 20's, I would like to pursue a job in mining in Oz or Canada, how would i go about getting there?
I have no qualifications besides my leaving cert but i would do any training course or college course that would help me get a good paying job in that industry.
What is the current state of the mining business in Canada/Australia, are there plenty of jobs going?
From what i hear the pay is very good but it seems a difficult area of work to get into.
Iv tried Google but i cant seem to get any good answers.
Its something id like to do for 5-10 years then come home, go to University and get a degree.

Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated as this will help determine my future :o

EDIT: I would also like to become an Electrician if i cant find work in mining. Is there much work in Australia or Canada for Electricians, is the pay any good?
