I just booked a return flight to Gatwick for a family of 5 next January for 169 euros. Incredible value. I'll happily put up with scratch cards and silly trumpety noises for that price. Cheers Mick

Just you wait, I bet they'll charge you £20 each for the bus to the plane ;)

My journey is not complete without those silly trumpety noises.

As much as we all complain about Ryanair and their add ons. I still go back and book with them , they are usually considerably cheaper than booking with Air Lingus !!

not always cheaper than Aer Lingus, but always get my vote for driving down the pruce of air travel. Still remember the year our school went on a trip to France, the flights were something like 300 .pounds return, and about half the class could not before to travel. Bitterly disappointed to saw the least. This as in the early 80s when a weeks wae was abou100 puntst

300 pounds is madess. That sounds like some school tour though for the 80's! I went there years ago to Paris, with flights & accomadation we got it all for around 300 euro!

I booked reserved seats for Ryan air as I want to be guaranteed a seat beside my OH and don't want to go through the whole pushing/rushing once everyone is allowed on the plane!! I wonder if our names will be on the seats or will it just say reserved..?

It will just have a reserved sign on the seat.

I flew from Dublin to Brussels last December for 19.99 each way. The taxi's to and from my house to the airport cost more, and I only live in feckin' Sutton.

    Meehaul O'Leary, I salute you sir !

Ok, thanks! Do we go on with the other passengers or do we go on with people who have priority bording do you know? :)

If you have paid for priority boarding, you can board before everyone else. If you have not, you can't. Priority boarding and reserved seating are two separate things. You don't automatically get one with the other.

Actually, people with reserved seating board with the priority passengers, it's built into the price of the reserved seat.

Its easy to bash Ryanair, but I have seen loads of places and enjoyed many European adventures that I never would have if they never existed.

I know their booking is a pain, their additional charges can be crazy, but if you do things right, they can still be a very cheap way to get to the UK/Europe.

Bottom line, if they were as bad as everyone says they are, they would be out of business a long time ago.

In my own experience aer lingus have actually worked out better! Ryanair flight is 180, Aer lingus is 200, but after adding baggage(20kg with Ryanair is 60 and Aer lingus is 40) It works out the same.

But Ive flown with Ryanair, i didnt pay for the flights as the college did but I found no problem with it at all!
