Just saw the UFC's top submissions according to the UFC themselves.

#20 Anderson Silva Triangle Choke on Travis Lutter (UFC 67)

#19 Carlos Newton Headlock Choke on Pat Miletich (UFC 31)

#18 Matt Hughes Armbar on Georges St-Pierre (UFC 50)

#17 Royce Gracie Armbar on Kimo Leopoldo (UFC 3)

#16 Nate Diaz Triangle Choke on Kurt Pellegrino (UFN 13)

#15 Anderson Silva Rear-Naked Choke on Dan Henderson (UFC 82)

#14 Murilo Bustamante Guillotine Choke on Matt Lindland (UFC 37)

#13 Chris Lytle Reverse Triangle Choke on Jason Gilliam (UFC 73)

#12 Karo Parisyan Kimuraon Dave Strasser (UFC 44)

#11 Frank Mir Kimura on Antonio Nogueira (UFC 140)

#10 Ronda Rousey Armbar on Liz Carmouche (UFC 157)

#9 Chan Sung Jung Twister on Leonard Garcia (UFN 24)

#8 Forrest Griffin Rear-Naked Choke on Mauricio Rua (UFC 76)

#7 Royce Gracie Triangle Choke on Dan Severn (UFC 4)

#6 Frank Mir on Tim Sylvia (Armbar, UFC 48)

#5 BJ Penn Rear-Naked Choke on Matt Hughes (UFC 46)

#4 Frank Mir Kneebar on Brock Lesnar (UFC 81)

#3 Royce Gracie Rear-Naked Choke on Ken Shamrock (UFC 1)

#2 Matt Hughes Rear-Naked Choke on Frank Trigg (UFC 52)

#1 Anderson Silva Triangle Choke/Armbar on Chael Sonnen (UFC 117)

I have to say I think its a ridiculous list.
Anderson silva in there three times for a RNC and two basic triangle chokes! \And no Damien Maia for his slick submission over Sonnen!
    That list is a joke.
    What do you think?

    And the top KO list

#20 Vitor Belfort on Wanderlei Silva at UFC Brazil (1998)

#19 Renan Barao on Eddie Wineland at UFC 165 (2013)

#18 Yves Edwards on Josh Thompson at UFC 49 (2004)

#17 Rashad Evans on Sean Salmon at UFC Fight Night (2007)

#16 BJ Penn on Caol Uno at UFC 34 (2001)

#15 Travis Browne on Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night (2013)

#14 Rampage Jackson on Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92 (2008)

#13 Pete Williams on Mark Coleman at UFC 17 (1998)

#12 Lyoto Machida on Randy Couture at UFC 129 (2012)

#11 Rashad Evans on Chuck Liddell at UFC 88 (2008)

#10 Chuck Liddell on Tito Ortiz at UFC 47 (2004)

#9 Rich Franklin on Nate Quarry at UFC 56 (2005)

#8 Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on Lyoto Machida at UFC 113 (2010)

#7 Matt Hughes on Carlos Newton at UFC 34 (2001)

#6 Chuck Liddell on Randy Couture at UFC 52 (2005)

#5 Dan Henderson on Michael Bisping at UFC 100 (2009)

#4 Gabriel Gonzaga on Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 70 (2007)

#3 Edson Barboza on Terry Etim at UFC 142 (2012)

#1 Chris Weidman on Anderson Silva at UFC 162 (2013)

#1 Anderson Silva on Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 (2011)

Talk about trying to big up anderson silva

Why was his crane kick any better than Machidas?
    Chris Weidman????
He KO'ed a guy with his hands down by his waist, hardly joint best KO in UFC history!!

Who the hell compiled these lists?!!

Edson Barboza should take number 1 for the KO list.

Barbozas on Etim is probably the most "holy shít" moment I have ever had watching a fight. Incredible.

Like all lists, they are subjective and one fellas list will be completely different from the next.

How Jones choke on machida isnt on that list amazes me.

The twister. Names completely escape me right now. That has to be #1 due to there being 2 seconds left and just the technicality of the sub

Yeah, some silly picks alright but you wonder if some of the picks are to hype upcoming fights over the next few weeks.
I would have had the twister higher up and the silva v sonnen one is probably up there due to the fact that Sonnen was on his way to victory through the 5 rounds and slipped up.

What about that neck crank from Maia? The pop in his nose when the blood runs out... ugh

I agree with about 10 each from those lists, but it seems like they're trying to evenly spread them across the entire timeline and trying not to focus on any one era.

Marquardt's KO of Maia and Brandao's armbar on Bermudez should be there IMO.

    No Dustin makes me sad.

I don't think the list is necessarily about the technical aspects of the KO/submission, but rather how important it was for the UFC + holy **** factor (hence the Weidman KO and some GnP finishes from Chuck and the like).

Silva over Sonnen might have been a "basic triangle", but its not just the sub its self, its significance comes from what happened in the previous 4 and a half rounds. There's some that don't deserve to be there, that isn't one.

#6 Chuck Liddell on Randy Couture at UFC 52 (2005)

Why was his crane kick any better than Machidas?
    Yes.
Silv'a wasn't a crane kick btw. It was a front kick.
    Chris Weidman????

Again, significance. Not the KO itself.

    It's there at #9.
    Should be higher.
#9 Chan Sung Jung Twister on Leonard Garcia (UFN 24)

Lists are slightly biased towards guys still in the UFC/Retired on food terms or came back a few times becoming regular fixtures there.
No Kongo on pat barry/ Frank shamrock slam or tito on evan tanner.

Dustin's armbar not bein in there is a tragedy
