    I watched a old documentary about him and some silly American "born again" on youtube recently- is he still a Jihadist Salafi? Has he been arrested or has he calmed down and adopted a more orthodox version of Islam?

    he was on the late late when pat kenny presented it a few years ago, and i honestly don't know how he didn't get a thump from someone in the audience. a troll of the highest order.

    Uh Im not so sure- most Muslims wouldnt consider Salafi Jihadists Muslims, besides the obvious there is their belief that God has an Uncreated Body.

    Ibn Taymiyyah their hero from the golden age of Islam was imprisoned for his various crazy ideas and the present day sect could well have been a creation of the British in order to undermine the Ottomann Empire.

    You've gotta watch out for the one's that get converted in prison. I mean I think they're already quite extremist in the way that they live their lives and the way they think. The fundamentalists get hold of them and mould their extremism in a different way so they end up thinking that their doing god's work.

    But he was convicted in Saudi for selling drink- Ive been to Iran and had some great Vodka there. Okay maybe he should have obeyed to law but it wasnt THAT evil a crime.

    Yes it's not a serious crime unless you look at it from a fundamentalists point of view. I think these guys probably have a great inner struggle. If you are taught that God is hateful then that legitamises the hatred that you have within yourself.
