    Hi,

So basically I am looking for movies that are spiritual and mystical. Movies that rely on philosophical conversations.

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind regards.

The Tree of Life is the first that comes to mind, was a bit divisive but it's well worth a watch. I'd imagine blu-ray is the way to go if possible, I saw it in a cinema and its a gorgeous film, certainly not one for the laptop screen.

Darren Aronofsky's 'The Fountain' would be the first one i'd think of.

    waking life?

it's pretty much 100% philosophical conversations

mostly bollox, but if you're a smoking man it'd be interesting after a couple of bongs

Spring Summer Autumn Winter... and Spring is a beautiful Buddhist parable that's moving and insightful in equal measure.

The Passion of Joan of Arc is one of the greatest films ever made. You can probably tell from the title there's something of a spiritual theme! Dreyer's later film Ordet is equally spiritual albeit in a very different way.

Black Narcissus is a classic Powell and Pressburger tale of a group of nuns in a remote monastery. Powerful, evocative filmmaking.

For something completely different, try Bergman's Silence of God films - ie Through a glass Darkly, Winter Light and The Silence. Perhaps the most intents spiritual ponderings ever committed to celluloid!

"Andrei Rublev" is one of my favourites - roughly based around the life of an icon painter about whom little is actually known - to quote from an online review:

'The notion of art as a "religious experience" is sometimes bandied about too freely. Tarkovsky is one of a handful of filmmakers for whom this ideal was no cheap or desanctified metaphor, but literal truth.'

"The Seventh Seal" is maybe an obvious choice - searching for a silent God and the meaning of life and death if there's no afterlife.

This will sound like I'm taking the piss, but I'm honestly not. The first film to spring to mind when I read your post was Martyrs. It's kind of a violent ,brutal movie but it's near the end where you realize that it's more of a spiritual themed movie. I can't say too much with out giving it away, but if you persevere through the violence and torture ,I think it's one of the best movies made in the last 10 years.

Not necessarily deeply mystical/spiritual but a few that spring to mind which are heavily to entirely conversational and touch on philosophical questions....
    Waking Life
    I Heart Huckabees.
    My Dinner with Andre
    Crimes and Misdemeanours

Solaris. Always found that quite existential.

+1; any of Tarkovsky's movies really, but especially Solaris and Stalker. Also saw the Tree of Life recommended on here. Malick is a deeply spiritual director, so +1 for his movies too. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...and Spring mentioned already too and one I'd add is 2001: A Space Odyssey - a little obvious and most people have seen it but what the heck :)
