    Hi Fist time poster , just wondering what others do for self development . I myself try to learn a new skill every 3 months .the new skill I am learning is how to program . What do you do to improve yourself ?

    Basically I try to improve myself a tiny bit each day. Physically, mentally, emotionally, economically, whatever. It adds up over time. I am not very good at planning long term things like "I will take up X today and do it for 18 months". I prefer short term but on-going evolving goals.

    As with the first link I gave above though - I generally do recommend starting small and working up rather than lofty high hope goals. While the latter does work for many people - I find the former works more often.
