Can someone help me here please????
I've been trying to sell my car for the past year with No luck whatsoever and obviously there is no tax on it since April 13. My NCt is up soon and I went in to the MTO to sort it out but was told to pay €342 in arrears or change the ownership of the vehicle to avoid to pay back what I own! My question here is can I change it to my spouses name and then sort out the tax without the arrears????

Yes, however you do consider the effect an extra owner will have on the selling price.
If you've been trying to sell your car for the last year, your price is too high.
With regards the nct, unless they changed the rules recently, the car doesn't need to be taxed.
