Fiberglass vs Kingspan

I have 38mm kingspan backed plasterboard on my ceiling. The joists are 8". I want to board out the attic space so I only have the 8" depth of my rafters to work with. Question is will I get an acceptable uValue just using rockwoll between the joists or will I need to use some kingspan? Cost is not a factor. Out of interest how does 50mm Kingspan compare to 100mm rockwoll? See this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055638859 states 50mm Kingspan = 150mm Rockwoll. I would have thought it was a far bigger difference?

You can run more timber joists perpendicular to current joists to create more insulation depth.

that wouldn't work as would have no head room in the atic then which would defeat the purpose of boarding it out :(

if its only medium traffic areas and light storage space then use the xtratherm loft -r boards . they are loft boards with 83mm of foil backed insulated slab attached to them . you screw them down over the existing attic joists and insulation . i have may attic fitted out with them , got them at trade price from b & q 2 weeks ago .
