    Hi guys,

Has anyone ever had an issue of their comp not reading CF cards? I use a 2008 macbook pro and card reader but it is now not picking up CF cards. It will pick up sd cards no problem though. I have bought a new card reader to rule out that but it dosn't work on that either.

Has anyone else ever had this problem at all?

(I have also posted this in the Mac section but a lot may not use CF cards, hence posting here also so please mods can you leave here?!)

    Cheers

When you are saying not reading what exactly do you mean?
does your Mac "see" the the card but you can't access it?or is it a complete blank? Where did you used your card for the last time?did you done a "format" on other devices? Does the device you normally use the card recognise it?

yeah the cards were normally readable and viewable on the comp, but just not of late for some reason.

its the same with the 3 cards I own!

have not formatted or done anything out of the ordinary lately to have caused it either. really unsure what the prob is!

Have you any way or trying the reader and cards on another laptop or macbook. might help you in ruling out if it is a hardware or CF card issue.

Have you checked maybe your new reader have any firmware updates?
And as far as I understand you can see them?if so and you don't have anything important on them try reformating them on your Mac.

When you say it, I tried on a windows laptop last night and that did not work either. I put the cards back in the camera there and they read on the camera no problem so I think i just have to plug the camera into the comp and go from there! :(
