I have a htc one on the way and I'm just wondering if it will be hit or miss when I try and ask google something?

    Thanks.

They've made huge strides forward,I find it gets most things right but can sometimes still be hit or miss. It all depends on accent too!

I have a HTC One too and IMO voice search/apps are not much use in day to day life. Google Now is pretty good and actually quicker than typing as long as its something really basic. I've found most questions that have even a small nuance to them are ineffective, just type it. Most useful voice feature is the "Google, remind me in 10 minutes, 20 minutes" thing. I use it when I'm cooking.

Otherwise, like Siri and S Voice on the Galaxy phones, Google Now Voice search is a cool thing to show your friends every now and then but I wouldn't use it very often.

I find Google now works better than Siri.

Demo videos on youtube for both.

Also there are a lot of things people search for online that they wouldn't say out loud.

It's reasonably good. I use s-voice on occasion and it is fairly accurate. However, it is not quite at the level of natural speech- you do have to pause regularly and clearly enunciate your words.

Oh, and make sure to thank S-voice- the results can be hilarious.

I find the speaktoit assistant widget works quite well.

I'm still looking for something that works flawlessly while driving, such as read out text messages and emails
