Traveling with 4 month old

We are considering going away in mid January for a week with our then 4 month old. As Knock is the nearest airport to us that is where we are planning to go from but Lanzarote is the only sun destination for that time of year. Flight is 4 hours each way which we think should be ok, but we'd love to hear any suggestions/advice/experiences regarding traveling with such a young one. It's our first so we're a bit green. I'd like to go for longer but herself reckons that would be too long with the young one.

Sorry for the vagueness of this thread.

    Hi!

We have travelled every year with our daughter, the youngest being when she was 2.5 months old, we went to costa del sol.
We have been to lanzarote three times, I recommend it, there are lots of lovely restaurants and fab hotels. Just bring warm clothes in the nights, we've always gone in September, and it can get chilly :)

Travelling depends on the child, you know your own child so you should have an idea. Ours was a very placid one so we never had any tears on the plane!

Thanks for your reply michellie! It's looking like Lanzarote (even picked up passport form today), only thing we have to decide on is length of our stay. We always go away for a minimum of 10 days as we find a week is never enough so that's the only real decision we have to make (except for accommodation etc).

We have always only stayed 7 days but I've always wanted to stay longer, 10 days is perfect !!
