Cars seized by the CAB

I was reading an article today about the CAB and what was seized.
Usually when I read about the CAB I notice they seize quite a good few cars, mostly luxury.
Got me thinking what actually happens to these cars?
I remember hearing that they turn the cars into official CAB cars or are they just auctioned off?

Think they try and sell everything

Actually, they sold a watch on eBay earlier this year (netting them 7k :o)

They're sold on generally (after being re registered)

In some instances, the Gardai have held onto vehicles.

    Namely armour plated BMW's

Made me chuckle that one :)
Picturing a SUV BMW screaming "I'm free!"

Wasn't there legislation brought in very recently which allows seized vehicles to be deployed to Gardaí, Revenue and other government departments in need of vehicles?

I think it's like MugMugs said, CABS and other law enforcement keep certain cars whereas houses, etc are sold off.
What about the cash then? For instance cash generated from the sales or cash they find in general.
Is this returned to the government pot?

More money to be made working as a cab driver than as part of CAB, it seems
