    From NUIM:

The NUI Maynooth Mature Student Office is pleased to advise details of our Shadowing Programme which aims to support potential mature applicants to NUI Maynooth for the 2014-2015 academic year.

In line with feedback from our partners last year we have reviewed the delivery of the programme, bringing it forward to December rather than February, in order that applicants may have the benefits of the programme in advance of completing their CAO applications. Thank you for your feedback, which we are happy to receive at all stages.

To maximise the benefit to potential mature students, our one-day programme (run over two days) is designed to allow each participant experience one normal busy day in the life of a student, with the opportunity to attend up to five lectures. It will also try to ensure that the applicant will have the opportunity to sit in on at least one lecture in his/her chosen subject(s), but will also allow the potential applicant to attend lectures in subjects that he / she may not have considered, but which could be options especially if general Arts MH101 is the choice of degree.

We expect the shadowing days to be Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th December 2013.

Preliminary daily programme is as follows:

    09:00 – 09:20 Arrival & registration

    09:20 – 09:30 Welcome / Introduction

09:30 – 09:55 North Campus tour (to familiarise attendees with lecture venues, used on the day)

    09:50 – 12:55 Shadowing

    13:00 – 14:00 Lunch

    14:05 – 15:55 Shadowing
