Tractor Battery

    Hello there..

    We have an old ferguson 20 tractor here.

    Needs a new battery, does anybody know what amp hour of battery is recommended or is needed for this tractor?

    The highest cca you can get as they're a bitch start in 50 degree heat never mind this time of year.

    There is no point forking out for a BIG HUGE amperage battery!! the starter will only draw as much current as it needs to or is specified to do.

    I wouldnt know off the top of my head the exact battery,but a 700CCA would be more then an enough for a 20.


    I tought it was the 35 4cyl that is hard to start, them 20's are not as bad:confused:

    The 20 can be a nasty little thing in colder weather. A 700 ca battery be adequate I guess but they keep turning and turning. Especially if ya don't have a heating plug working

    I run mine on a 643 battery.. About 700ah. It never has a problem starting, although it has had a complete engine rebuild.
