Habitual Residence condition a bit confusing (Jobseeker's Allowance)

    I'm an EU citizen, been here since the end of July this year. I finished my engineering degree and am looking for my first job. I saw a couple of really good opportunities in the Jobbridge website, but apparently you have to be on Jobseeker's Allowance/Benefit to be able to apply for those.
    I'm 22 years old and I live with my parents. I'm not sure I'll be elligible for Jobseeker's Allowance anyway in terms of parent's income (they're both on part-time work, average household income is probably around €1300-€1400/month combined and we pay €100/week of rent), but what's most confusing to me is the "habitual residence" part of the deal. At my local social welfare office I was told you have to have been here for 2 years to qualify for Jobseeker's Allowance, which I can't find anywhere on the citizensinformation.ie website. I would gladly take this job opportunity for €50, €75/week even if it meant having to actually pay to work, but apparently I can't because I'm not getting the allowance.
