Anybody been to Bangalore?

I have been presented with a possible job opportunity in Bangalore and I'm kinda considering it because it would be cool to do something exciting like work in India for a while before I settle down.

It's difficult to gauge what it's actually like to live over there day to day from searching the net. I can get decent numbers for cost of living and all that end of it seems fantastic but I have no sense of what the atmosphere of the city is like. I guess that's because it would only really be relevent to me if it was coming from and Irish person or someone familiar with Ireland to compare the two.

So anybody been to Bangalore? Whats it like to visit? What's it like to live in? Or if you have only visited what do you think it would be like to live in?

All the interviews for the job are over skype so I won't get to visit the place before accepting the job. And it's pretty expensive to just pop over and visit so that's not really an option.

Just for the record this isn't a move of necessity purely for the sake of employment. I'm in a sector where there is currently plenty of work so I have options that don't involve leaving the country. This opportunity just sounds pretty interesting.

Yes, it can be a good experience especially if you want to try out working in an emerging market.
Some areas are quite westernised and you will get everything there. IF you have specific questions I can help answer perhaps after to hear about the job.
I was in Bangalore for 4 months and it was not too bad, once you don't set very high expectations :)
