Hi all. Was just wondering how to wire up spots on the top rear of the cab of a scania truck. Want to put up 2 spots on a separate switch for night loading. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Firstly use a relay (24v) that can either support both lights or if not then one for each spot.Possibly use the side lights circuit as a trigger wire to activate the relay(s) in case the lights could be left on when you don't want them.A power wire(s) with a fuse and earth(s) for the relay(s) and a feed from the relay(s) to the lights. What ever watts they draw will determine if you need one or two relays. You can check what amps the relay is by looking at it.They should not be less than the current draw of the lights.

As a general rule, 30-power, 87-load from lights etc,85-trigger, 86-earth.85 and 86 can be mixed up, it doesn't matter

Thanks for that jimmy. Great info. All I need now is a day off to tackle it.

Your truck is a 24 volt system I assume? You can fit the other switch in the trigger wire to the relay to isolate the lights when you don't want them on.The relay must have an amp rating above the lights.
