Moved into a new apartment a while back and have sky in the sitting room I then bought a new tv for the bedroom but i've no aerial on the roof according to a man I got down to hook the whole thing up for me. As I have a sky dish. my only option is to get my old sky box from home and hook it up to the dish therefore i'll be able to receive all the free to air sky channels? Is this true?

Just hook up any box with a satellite tuner and you'll get all these channels for free.

I believe the Sky box will work but in a limited way without subscription.

If you want the Irish channels for free, you'll need to get an aerial though.

He told me as i've no aerial only a sky dish i'd need a sky box so i'm just going to use my old sky dish.

What channels can I expect to receive with the sky box? Presume all the ITV and BBC channels?

Yes you will get all the english stations but if you have a sky+ HD box you might need an English or Ni FTV card to be able to get the English EPG as it reverts ot the Irish one.
But you will need a Saorview box or Saorview enabled TV and an aerial to get the Irish stations

The box I have is a Sky HD box its not Sky Plus the box was used as a sky multi-room box when I lived at home.

Would I be able to get a Sky eye and use it from my sky plus hd box in the sitting room?
