Connecting to a new exchange

We want to get a broadband connection to our home in rural cork. At present we have a normal telephone connection to an exchange that will never be broadband enabled due to "demand" or lack of. We have mobile broadband that can deliver speeds up to 250kb/s which is flaky at best and getting worse. 650m up the road our neighbors have broadband which is on a different exchange and will be efibre enabled in the new year. What would the cost be of putting in poles to bridge the 650m?  Preliminary investigations with our local eircom engineers say they will cover 5-6 poles max @50m between each pole which only brings us halfway. What are the options from here?

    Hi Charlie 22
It is difficult to advise on this without knowing more. Would you mind PM'ing me your full address. I will have to speak with local and national ops on this one. It may not just be a matter of moving you from one exchange to another, but I can at least get more info for you.
