Where can I learn midfoot running technique?

    Been reading that mid foot running is meant to reduce the risk of injury. Is there anywhere in Fingal area for learning this technique, or is it possible to teach yourself?

    I downloaded the chi running dvd somewhere online a while back,free. Taught myself from it.

    I've done Catriona's course and I have to say its worked for me.
    I don't focus on chi all the time, but I just try to use the basics and work from there to prevent heel strike.

    I also made the move away from traditional runners with built up heels with the inov-8 road-x series shoes, heading towards a more minimal shoe (done gradually over months, years, and different shoes, not all in one jump).
    Straight away I could noticeably feel a heel strike more than before which automatically caused me to correct my gait.

    I think this, as much as the chi course helped me towards a mid/fore foot strike and thus has greatly reduced my niggly injuries over the past couple of years.

    Hi Duke, coming from a cycling background, the notion of focusing on cadence to avoid injury makes a great deal of sense. I also like the fact that it is something I can do relatively easily.

    The article itself is very interesting and makes great sense, thanks for posting.

    Spurscormac, I have bought new runners from amphibian king with lower heel to help reduce heel strike and once my current injury clears up I might try to experiment with some bare foot running on the treadmill to further focus on reducing heel strike.
