Water repellant for always clear wing mirrors?

I use a water repellent additive for my windscreen wipers mix and find it helps give a clearer windscreen in rain. I find dark wet nights like tonight that visibility via my wing mirrors is very poor and that having less rain drops sitting on the wing mirrors or the part of the driver door window between me and the wing mirror would make it a lot clearer.

I think I've seen mention of water repellent treatments you can get for sunglasses to make rain just glide off them - is there anything similar for wing mirrors as in the absence of wingmirror wipers this would be a handy easy step for giving a slight improvement in visibility.
