Can't get decent finish painting coving

I'm currently painting some smooth (plastered AFAIK) coving but not happy with the finish from the brush. I'm using a Harris 3" brush that's supposed to give a smooth finish but I can still see the brush strokes.

Any recommendations how I can get a better smoother finish? Tried a small roller but the shape of the coving makes it impossible to roll. Thanks.

Thin out the paint a bit more. The pait is probably too thick if you're painting straight oit of the tin

I am. Using ceiling paint which worked fine on the coving downstairs but the coving in the bathroom is different stuff.

What do you recommend thinning with and by how much?

I assume its emulsion therefore water. Is the brush a fine bristle?

Yes, emulsion ceiling paint. I think THIS is the type of brush I was using.
