    It's legitimate.

Source: I've been involved in recruitment for 10 years.

I could be wrong, but isn't indeed.ie a trawler site that lists lots of jobs from all the other sites and company websites etc?

I got my current job after finding it advertised on indeed.ie, the company had only advertised it on the company website itself, but it showed up on indeed.ie.

It was the layout of the site that lead me to be suspicious of the site. Though it was a little on the poor side. So I found a few jobs as a result of people saying the site was okay. I have only received 1 reply as such so but early day. One thing I did not like, but I think it was down to an individual advertiser. In this one case they wanted me to create a logon and password for the application. Nothing wrong so far until they wanted me to log in via LinkedIn or Facebook. Have heard of a handful of case of employer request facebook passwords etc, seemed like they were using it as a way to circumvent actually asking for these. Can anyone shed some light onto how much of a thing this whole spying on staff in their free time has become.

Oh yeah, I just don't apply if that's the case.

99.9% of jobs I found advertised on indeed were recruitment agency placeholders and not jobs at all. It took me weeks to realise but the same agencies churn out the same "job specs" week after week. Occasionally they contacted me directly with something but never once was there a follow up. In more than one case more than one agency contacted me with the same spec and then weeks later the company itself would advertise the same spec directly also, makes me wonder if those roles existed at all either.

I only got two interviews for 3 weeks of job hunting, both were direct advertisements, not agencies.

I have applied for on average 10 jobs a week on Indeed.ie since last May. I apply using a cover letter and attached CV. I have not uploaded my CV onto their website. My issue is that the employers do not seem to be viewing the applications as I have only received a handful of notifications to that effect. An email titled 'your application has been viewed by....' has been sent to me approx 5 times and I have applied for over 200 jobs! What is going on? Maybe somebody could shed some light on this, it is eternally frustrating. Thanks in advance.

I think it's just a crap website that advertises jobs that are on other websites already. That's my experience of it anyway.

It scrapes some websites for jobs, but it also has connections into some recruitment systems which automatically publish the jobs. Also employers can also post jobs directly on it and pay to boost it to the top of the list.

They have a huge office on St Stephens green so they must be doing some sort of business.
