Any body got any real world experience of the new shape 06 and on Kia Magentis diesels ?
Would they stand up well to 30k miles plus a year if properly maintained? Theres a massive difference in price from an avensis d4d or a superb. Is this just badge snobbery or are they useless?

Well ive seen a 2006 model with full leather and 70k miles on the clock for €4950. My mine concern is the general reliabilty any experience of them? What goes wrong with them are they expsensive to fix etc? Would it be feasable to get another 100k miles without too many problems if the car is well maintained?

Hard to say really, don't know a whole lot more about them and they are not all that common. Probably worth having a test drive of it anyway but 70k miles is low for a nearly 8 year old diesel car so make sure to do proper background checks on it.

We have a Rio 1.5CRDI here in the fleet, basically its bulletproof, I change oil and filter every 10k and she is being trashed by tourists and italian up-to-no-goods 24/7.
On a side note, there is a couple of newish 320d in the fleet also, all of them with serious engine defects...

I think they had the 140hp engine, early sonatas were 5 speed with 116hp. Usual stuff with them, possible injector issues, clutches not particularly robust.

Are they the expensive dmf clutches ?

    Yep.
I don't really like them as a car though, the seats are too low and unsupportive.
They're also not as good looking as the sonata.

They're kinda like a modern day Camry (except for the reliability like)
