If a topic is going to be deleted, do we report and post or just report?

Long story short in After Hours someone posted asking about a website was working or not. I responded to it but figured I should have reported it instead since it's technically off topic in AH.

So in that case would reporting it to be moved/deleted and responding with "yes it's up/no it's not working" be acceptable or should I just keep my mouth shut and report it?

It's your own preference whether to just report, or respond and then report. In the local case of N&F, I'd normally lock an off-topic thread if people insist on attempting to continue it, even though they've already been directed to the right place.
