I can still remember the first fox I shot, 16 years of age, 37 years ago!!!

We were on a driven shoot and it was my first day with the double barrel, rather than beating, at the end of the cover.

When the dogs started barking two foxes broke from the cover, a dog and a vixen, about 30 yards away. Shot both with a left and right!!!...........never forgot the moment or experienced a similar buzz out shooting since.

They were worth £16 each that time (about €40 today)

Needless to say I've never achieved a double at foxes since.

I was only out for a ramble more then anything. One of the older lads in the clubs said that he always got a fox near this particular tree.So when i got near the tree switched to the alphamax just in case. This thing burst out the bushes and bang.

Wished I'd did a better job on skinning the tail but hopefully more to come.

Well Done. Nice photo with shell. Shot my first fox 24 years ago in a spud field out shooting pheasants. Fox was lying in drills and rose as I was level with him. Good clean kill with a 7 shell. Will never forget it. Many more for you in the future.
