    Well lads,
Can anyone recommend a cheap head or gun camera? Fancy making a couple of videos when I'm out and about.I've heard the GoPro is a great job but a bit out of my price range this close to Xmas.

I use a kodak playsport camera mounted on a baseball cap from headcam.com but if you search you tube can get video on how to convert baseball cap to hold the camera. Try and get 32 memory card and 4 batteries will cover days shooting. I think the go pro hero 3 is the way to go, and hope to change over to it myself. Epointer has great videos using gopro. My videos using the playsport are under Gurranabraher on YouTube.

I started with a flip mino, moved to a Kodak Playsport & then thru the Gopro models.
I would say the cheapest camera is the gopro because if you start cheap you will likely upgrade & spend more as you look for better quality.
The gopro just has the best features all round I found.

What kind of money would you expect to pay for a decent set up?

Between camera, memory cards, spare batteries etc I'd hazard a guess in the 500 mark. Not cheap.

Hero 3 black edition this year. There is even a newer 1. The 3 plus which claims better battery life & slightly lighter.

what life has the battery on continuous and what size sd card would be required for the full of the battery?

I am running it at 1080p 48fps based on some advice here & when I put in a 32gb micro SD card it defaults to 2.14 minutes worth of recording time left.
A good investment was the battery bacpac & I get the duration of the SD card out of it & a battery so in other words I change the whole lot when the card is full.

I have 2 gopro batteries, 2 bacpacs & a few spare cheap batteries off of ebay.
I got 2 32gb cards & an 8gb one. You can get 64gb cards but if you lose one or damage one then thats the day lost. 32gb = over 2 hours works well I think.

I paid 250 dollars with a 30 dollar store credit voucher in cabellas when in the US. The Hero 3 Black edition.
Anyone with ladies heading shopping to NY or anything for the Xmas should pick one up there. Way cheaper.
No issues what so ever with the camera so far.
The clips can freeze when played back from the memory card but when saved to the laptop are fine. You do need a decent spec for PC/ laptop I guess.

Not sure I understand the question?

It is basically a clip on battery to the back of the camera. No leads.
You charge it with a standard mini usb connection that comes with it.
I was concerned about extra weight but no bother really

Headstrap. Over the baseball cap. Comfortable enough if you have a decent cap. The strap came with my first gopro but was the pack I picked. The basic pack doesn't I don't think but are handy money aftermarket

That was good value! I was wary of buying overseas when I read up about the problems, even the plus has some focus issues

Quality actually isn't that bad but frame rate & batteries would be the issue.

Saw this on Adverts, dont know if good but was considering for one of the kids. Might suffice before the big expense of official Go pro
