Hi everyone, has anyone ever torn or pulled achilles tendon??if so, what did you do to get it right? and any advice on the best runners for it?

have spent the last 3 months of tri season nursing my achilles, first run after the killarney half in July i was in agony with it.
ice, physio, and heel raises on a stairs got it back to where it hurt for the first few km of a run but then was fine. been steadily improving since, been able to train and race on it, and it's almost back to normal again, some small bits of pain now and again but i almost don't notice anymore it's been going so long

finished my last serious race of the season in Lanzarote last week, so ona few weeks rest now which i'm hoping will help it and a couple of other niggles i've been carrying. back running next weekend.

go see a physio, don't do your own rehab based on keyboard warrior feedback.

thanks a mill, yea i converted (stupidly) to barefoot runners...NB minimus and vivobarefoot for trails and obv i just didnt give em enough time to get used to it. it just blew up after the marathon and a wk before it after a cross country race but both achilles been v sore all year, but during tri's or running races theyve been fine..im taking the month of nov off running and going to physio...time for some MTB and swimming i thinking
    cheers mossym
