Hi Guys. Am thinking about doing a pub crawl of Hackeny pubs and watering holes sometime around the X-Mas. Cant say I am too clued in on the area but was wondering if anyone could recommend some bars in that Hood. I found a link for bars: http://www.londontown.com/NearByNightlife/Nightlife/Directory/Areas/Hackney/Nightlife/Nightlife-near-Hackney/

Plenty on there. Anyone know them or others they'd be kind enough to recommend? I know its a Hipster heavy Zone and Im not quite one, but, like most people here I like to think I can get on with and have fun with most people on a night out.

All the best and thanks for any thoughts,

    TC

    On that list:
Jaguar Shoes - I don't really like it, its a bit too hip for me and the drinks are a little expensive.

The Seabright Arms - really like this place, pub upstairs with a dance floor/venue part in the basement.

The Lauriston - really like this place too, its just a nice pub that does pizza.

    I'd recommend:

    The Haggerston, 438 Kingsland Road
The Shacklewell Arms, 71 Shacklewell Lane
The London Fields, 137 Mare St
Pub on the Park, 19 Martello Street

    Haven't got there yet.

I like the Sebright Arms too (http://www.sebrightarms.co.uk/) good pub food and good bands downstairs. Not dazzling bright like many other pubs, which I like.

The Kenton (http://www.kentonpub.co.uk/website/Home.html) edging towards Homerton, is owned by two Norwegian guys, great for Sunday lunch but I haven't found it great at the weekend.

The Lauriston, as someone else said, is grand, but I'd edge off to the lovely Hemingway; this is a real hidden gem in my opinion. (http://www.thehemingway.co.uk/)

Round the corner from the London Fields Pub on Mare street, is the great little London Fields Tap Room (http://londonfieldsbrewery.co.uk/tap-room/) and in the summer, their Brewery opens up to a beer garden. Great little spot.

Pub on the Park, too is good, but I have always found it super busy and tend to side away to The Tap Room.

Ive heard good things about Bar Kino (https://www.facebook.com/KinoHackney), owned by an irish guy and the new Oslo right by the station is holding gigs http://www.oslohackney.com/)

And for the late night top up, try the famous Dolphin (http://www.thedolphinhackney.co.uk/about-us.html)

I don't bother with pubs on Kingsland Road really, but there are plenty on Shoreditch High street. It's not too hipster heavy you'll be happy to know, they are all in Jaguar Shoes and the Dalston Superstore.

    Duke of Wellington - http://www.thedukeofwellingtonn1.com/
    The cock - http://www.thecocktavern.co.uk/

What's the name of the pub with the parrot (sometimes) behind the counter?

Biddle bros you might be thinking of across from the Windsor castle?
