painting smooth coving

I'm currently painting some smooth coving but not happy with the finish from the brush. I'm using a Harris 3" brush that's supposes to give a smooth finish but I can still see the brush strokes. Any recommendations how I can get a better smoother finish? Tried a small roller but the shape of the coving makes it impossible…
