For those who dont know what it is, its an app you can download thats somewhat similar to Hot or Not.

Basically, you sync it to your Facebook and pick up to 5 pictures. It displays your age, orientation and gives a general idea of your location. Then you are on the Tinder database for people to basically say whether they find you attractive or not. You can go through other profiles to do the same.

My first thought was that it would be another method of bullying and making people feel like ****. Its not entirely the case. You only hear back from the people who like you but you can only hear from these people if you in turn liked their picture, making the two of ye a match. When this happens you can start a conversation.

Is this kind of thing going to just fizzle out after a while or could it actually work in bringing people together? Would you use it if you were single and if not, why not?

I joined it today and Im already bored and uninterested in it but I tend to get bored easily and Im happy being single for the foreseeable future anyway. Curiousity got the better of me but thats fizzled out now so...Ill probably delete it.

So you can just choose attractive on everyone's page so that the people who did the same for you show up?

Then everyone can just do that and the app is kind of made redundant

True...a lot of people using it probably have no interest in finding someone and just want a confidence boost of some kind. I know that was more reason for me joining it than finding love anyway.

No because I didnt like anyone on it...and my main picture is of me dressed as Hitler so I wasnt expecting much.

I thought some of them were attractive, I just didnt press the Like button yet. I havent really been on it a lot yet.

I prefer the more traditional method of better getting to know a lady you find attractive. Meeting her in a bar, getting enjoyably sloshed, then back to her place for a good rodgering.

I thought I was like that too but now I admit that approval, even from strangers, does brighten my day a bit. Maybe Im just weak.

I shud clarify that the app only syncs with your Facebook friends and is not affiliated with it at all so theres one less reason to hate Facebook.

And I finally get the newspaper/tinder joke. Im slow in the early hours of the day

I've liked about 1000 girls in my time on tinder, matched with roughly about 30 have since deleted most of them due to either wanting my credit card details, or just not replying, have had cracking conversations with 3 women and have really 'bonded', meeting one of them for Xmas for a drink when she's down, it's more or less a bit of time killer but I've got some Craic out of it.

Few of my friends started using it, I told them it was pointless because once women get involved hook-up apps don't work, only the gays can manage it. They've been on dates for the last month and still not got anything.
