Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

'Best' Place Names

    It always fascinates me how place names can conjure images in your head.

    The names and the romanticised images your picturing are probably nothing like the reality of the place, but none the less the name itself has resonance.

    From the top of my head a few that interest me:

    Sevastopol
    Ceasarea
    Road Town
    Constantinople
    Tripoli
    Aleppo
    Tbilisi
    Astana
    Port Au Prince
    Windhoek

    Does this make sense to anyone else, or is it just me?
