Remote control gas fire

Our gas fire won't ignite, it sends out a few plaintive beeps and does nothing.
We can't manually light it, so no gas coming through either.
It is a Caribbean Glow and they are closed down.
I imagine the electronic part is generic. We've replaced the 7.2V battery pack.
Any ideas? Can it be converted to manual or is it a new fire? Thanks.

You have done all you can, you now need a RGI to check it out further, it could be something very simple, but it's not something you can safely or legally touch.

Can someone recommend a tradesman to fix my remote control gas fire? It's an electrical problem, I've looked at manual and it seems to be a loose connection in control box. I'm in the Galway area.

I think that means the battery needs replacing or removing.

Thanks would that just be in the remote or is there somewhere in the fire itself that uses batterys?

On mine it is a big battery left, front, bottom.
