Almost makes it economically feasible to buy TWO LOTR Battle at the Black Gates for full effect. Almost.

Cheers OP. Just wondering do they do free postage to Ireland or is Parcel Motel the best option?

Nice one, thanks. The Lego Architecture sets are usually insanely expensive, but £25 for the 560-piece White House set is a great price. Just bought it for my father for Christmas

Rather jealous that he's the one getting it and not me :o

One advantage to PM is that you will only pay UK VAT, but it goes to the UK government, the irish vat paid on amazon goes to ours. Our course the saving would have to cover the PM charges.

Some items may be zero vat in the UK but full 23% here, so savings could be significant.

Thanks rubadub - I was wondering why there seemed to be differing rates depending on getting the item delivered to PM or Ireland.

At least you have the 5 year old son. Very hard to convince a spouse that the household needs a Lego Technic rescue helicopter when you dont even have exposure to kids.

    Never.

I just turned 30, got Lego for me birthday, and my cake looked like Lego.

Balls to that, it's in the Constitution somewhere.

Shure, didn't De Valera just finish one before he wrote the damn thing!

Some of them can be expensive

    Some sales on here
    Debenhams
Amazon (You may have to dig around)
    Toys R Us
    Argos

Often you'll see random sets on sale in places you mightn't expect. You probably have missed most of the big sales this year, but still loads more if you look around.

Someone had shared pixmania sale on lego here a few weeks back with code lego20ie for an extra 20% off and that included already discounted stuff. Not sure if it still works but worth a try. There were some great deals on it at the time.

69 pieces - 8.7c per piece thats actually about midrange in price per piece for lego, the big sets are largely a box full of air, and the price per piece can be 1.5 times that.

As posted earlier amazon deals are listed here: http://www.brickset.com/buy/uk/Amazon/

You should look at getting creationary, its great craic with friends and about 330 pieces often around the £19/£20 mark on amazon.

I have no idea how long that would take to build. I'd guess it would take me a month or two continuing it every night.. :o

The Lone Ranger sets seem to be discounted everywhere.

There's a few bits left on amazon France too

Emailed Argos to find out if they are getting new stock in because they are out of pretty much everything I need in Limerick. They will be getting new stock in on the 12th and 19th but they did say that might not be in every store. Way cheaper for Lego then Smyths and other stores

    Hi,

Anyone know where I can get the White House lego set in Ireland? I'm in the south but have connections in Dublin also who could pick them up. I'm a bit on the late side with this, its more of a stocking filler than anything and I know he (my boyfriend) would love it for Christmas.

    Thanks in Advance
    Bella

Hamleys in Dundrum. I remember seeing it when I was up there a few weeks ago.

Without checking further for any offers you can order it from the Lego website for €61.94 including shipping: http://shop.lego.com/en-IE/White-House-21006?s=4643331
If you order some more stuff you would even get free shipping, but I don't know what the miminum order would be for that. Adding the Empire State Building for €22.99 (since you seem to be into american buildings :)) brings the total to €72.98 and shipping will be free for the lot.
