Not sure if this is the right forum for this.

Thinking of buying my wife a camcorder for Xmas. She has an old one which runs on tape but she has always had great difficulty burning onto DVD's from it. So I am interested in getting one with a SD card but are there other options.

What I am looking for in a camcorder is one with good quality that covers family events etc.

    Thanks for advice in advance.
