    1.10 Towcester

    Night Of Passion 9/1

This is a very poor low grade handicap here and despite Jeremy Scott not being in blinding form at present it looks very telling that Tom Scudamore gets down to his joint lowest weight of 10 stone on what will be a rare start for the yard. Racing here today off a mark of just 74, Night Of Passion is a decently enough bred mare being a half sister to Listed Hurdle winner Aubane, decent bumper/hurdling/chasing winner Armaguedon as well as bumper/hurdling winner Troll and judged on the performances of her half siblings she is definitely bred to be more than capable of winning off this basement weight. In addition to this, I feel she has definitely shown glimpses of ability in her 3 completed starts to date which suggest that she does have a future in this sphere and she wasn't knocked around on either starts in Novice Hurdles in races where she had no chance. Her final start came on her handicap debut off a mark of 77 over 2m at Plumpton last month on the back of a 3 month break and although well beaten she did again catch the eye having been badly outpaced over the minimum trip before staying on under minimal pressure late on. Dropped 3lb for that run to 74, she gets in here off bottom weight and I can't see Tom Scudamore (who has a good record when down to his minimum weight) wasting away in such a low grade handicap unless the yard think she has a brilliant chance. With the step up to this 2m5f trip undoubtedly going to suit, Night Of Passion also sports first time cheekpieces which will hopefully help her concentrate and with money already coming for her it wouldn't surprise me if she ends up quite a bit ahead of her mark in what is a really dire race.

That's a good spot Rossom. I find it very difficult to back anything scu touches of late. I've taken an ew punt on Richard woolacots horse at a big 33-1 in expectation it's a plot at some level. No sign of money as of yet but Aidan Coleman is on board

Had a tiny each way on Top Benefit in the second at Towcester at 12s. I often keep an eye on horses who run well in a maiden hurdle going back into a bumper, and Rasco did very well for a small stable on his debut beaten six lengths over hurdles into fourth. Could be worth a small each way at 16s though the favourite will be very hard to beat

I like the look of the whilians horse in the first at mussleburgh claude carter 5-1 terrible race though the whilians always tend to have more up the sleeve.:D
Also reckon birjomi queen for nicky richards is a steering job but have a real soft spot for kings theatre mares ah Voler la Vodette you beauty.

Need to stop editing but pitter patter in the last at towcester with paddy brennan up gone from 14-1 into 9-2 might take some of that action.

Todoistodare also 14-1 to 9-2 ah bumpers gotta love it. Still on the paddy money though

My only other bet, .5 point each way on Josie S and B going handicapping at Thirles. Won a bumper and caught the eye in a maiden hurdle, she should do better

Gizzit in the 2.40 in Towcester looks to have a decent chance. Thornton just never put him into the race the last day and he was catching the eye staying on over the same distance in Chepstow. I am not quite sure what to expect in these novice hc chases as there are definitely 2or3 in here that could be a good bit better than gizzit that haven't run over fences yet. But at the price of 5/1 I think it is(and I hate the term) an each way bet to nothing.

Just had a bet on realta mo croi here in Towcester as well. I thought 7/1 in this field was way to big.

There is a big punt on walsh's horse in this but you simply couldn't back him. 11/1 to 9/2
