Illness Benefit, while filling in X's and O's dockets.

    I am on a full time contract at work, but I am currently not getting full-time hours so am claiming using X's and O's. For the next 2 weeks I am unable to work and on sick leave from work. I will not be paid from work for this time. Can I claim Illness Benefit for the 2 weeks I am unable to work. I have a letter from the hospital stating that I am unfit for work until the 19th of November.

    Yes you can, just bring the letter you have from the hospital to your doctor and tell him you want to claim Illness Benefit, he has the forms and will sort it for you.

    You should let the dole office know about this to keep things in order.
