I'm after a laptop with the following:

    i5 processor
    6GB Ram
    500GB HDD
    Dedicaphics Card Nvidia or Radeon
    Backlit Keyboard

    Price is not an issue.

    Cheers

Would a Lenovo Z series be good?

What do you want the laptop for exactly? If you're after a gaming laptop then you'd want a good graphics card which usually doesn't come cheap. Check out some of the custom build laptops on pcspecialist, depending on how far your budget can stretch you can get some top specs for far less than you'd pay for a similar branded laptop

Thanks for the reply Harps, really appreciate it.I'm looking for a powerful multimedia laptop, a quad core will always outperform a dual core am I right?. Less issues with heat as well?.

The Lenovo Z500 laptop has 2GB dedicated Nvidia Graphics with an i7 for 700 euro!

Link for the Z500? Lenovo do seem to have some of the best value laptops around at the moment

I'm far from an expert but for the most part yes a quad core will beat a dual core. Look out for Haswell processors (i7-4xxx) as well as they've made quite a leap from the 3rd gen core processors in battery life.

A dedicated graphics card isn't really worth it unless it's a good one, the integrated Intel cards on Haswell processors are as good as some of the basic nvidia cards so they just end up being a drain on battery life with no obvious advantage. Look for a 650m or 740m upwards to make the extra cost worthwhile
