    Hi,

I'm rather new to Windows 8, and hopefully someone has a "Plain English " solution to my problem.

From the Start menu, I select Desktop. I now have taskbar running along the bottom of the screen. I select Google Chrome icon and the page opens, but the taskbar has disappeared ???

    I don't know why ???

All solutions would be welcome.... although I suspect it's something simple..

    Thanks

    Jay

When you put your mouse to the bottom of the screen does the taskbar reappear ?
If yes your taskbar is autohiding when you open an application.

Chrome might be launching in Windows 8 mode.

Click the Chrome menu button. If you see "Relaunch Chrome in Desktop mode", select it.

    Hi,

I have tried right clicking on the Chrome icon on the Windows 8 start menu, and the Chrome icon on the Desktop menu, ( Clik on Desktop, this opens the screen with Chrome icon, amongst others.

    Neither have a " Relaunch Chrome ............ " option.

    Thanks

    Jay

I'm not sure you're looking in the right place, have you tried here yet?
