New laptop needed to Replace my Toshiba

    Looking to replace my Toshiba c850 with something newer its gone very slow takes well over a minute to boot :(
    Budget: €1000

    Intended use: No gaming really surfing net ,you tube sky go, editing dvd’s file photos nothing major just have a toshiba that’s hopeless want something that will last a while,I7 chip hopefully want to have a ssd as well wish to have good amount or ram 1tb plus hardrive want to spend the 1000 to buy a machine that will last 3-4 years must have usb 3 and hdmi

    Mobility: No concern always at home or in the office 15 or 17 screen are grand

    What Operating System do you use? Windows 7 preferred

    As mentioned in the other thread check out pcspecialist, most of their laptops have dedicated gpu's which you probably won't need if you're not interested in gaming but you can build to your own specs so they're worth a look.

    I doubt you'd find many new laptops that run windows 7 anymore, I didn't like the look of 8 either but having used it for the past month I actually quite like it now, have a look it for touch screen laptops which supposedly make the windows 8 experience a lot better.

    For €1000 and no GPU you should be able to fit in a Haswell i7 processor and a good sized ssd with a full HD screen. If build quality is important check out some if the premium ultrabooks. I'm at work at the moment so don't have the time to be searching for anything right now!
