Canon PowerShot A560, problems with 'low power' warning indicator.

I have a Canon PowerShot A560 which is about seven years old. She's a real little beauty, and all has been well until this summer when it started to play up by signaling that the batteries were low, whereas in reality they had just been charged and were FULL.

I have had the batteries checked and checked again. Sometimes the camera works fine, and I might get six pictures before the lower battery indicator starts to flash (camera shuts down), then the next day it will work all day before problems occur!!!

Its not working at all tonight, and I have checked the batteries in my battery tester and they are both reistering a full 1.2 V each, so it cant be the original Sony batteries that are at fault, can it?

    Any ideas anybody?

I had the same one, it was left lying around for a while and I gave it to my mother, she got a bit of use out of it and it started happening to hers also. I thought she was using crapbbattery's but they were good ones.. Just ended up replacing it

Have you tried using standard alkaline batteries, they tend to be 1.5v rather than the 1.2v of the rechargeable.
