I just got a letter dated 1st November that got to me here in the middle of New Mexico a few moments ago.

Just 4 Days from Dublin on a 59 cent franking stamp was pretty damn good I thought.

Is this a record? I take back all I ever said about An Post and the US Postal Service.

I once posted a letter to myself and I had it in my hand before I even put the stamp on it.

I kinda just want to know what a man like you would be receiving by post from Ireland.

    Call it morbid curiosity

Alright, I concede, I'll never discover the contents of this letter.

Posted parcel to Vienna on a Friday afternoon, it arrived there Monday morning. Still not sure how that happened. However, now there is an Austrian who has very high expectations for delivery times from anywhere in the EU.

Franking is generally used for bulk mailouts I think, so if it's from a company or something they probably get a discounted price-per-letter with the franking. I'm just guessing though.

I don't think there is any discount for franking, one of the stupid reasons a company I used to work for had us sticking stamps on 300+ letters and the accounts gal sending out 500+ letters each month with a hand stuck stamp EVERY month with the statement of accounts: eek:

Go figure. Penny wise, pound foolish as fcuk.

six days to NZ is the standard since I've moved. Not a patch on the old scan and email though
