Back definitely distinguishes it from a console

I don't know why I used the word console, but I think that's what I see this as on some level... Steam in the sitting room etc

I just hope it's not substandard parts in it.

Just seen the specs. And 450W and a Titan? That can't be right

I've always taught about them as being somewhat of a hybrid

Is that really running with a titan?

Yeah, as far as I've read and seen some models will have a titan, but I can't see the most basic having them. I'd imagine the hardware would vary, but not a whole lot, could be wrong though.

I'm finding this whole development quite exciting. I'm not sure I want a Linux box but if this has a spill over into general gaming PC cases it'll be a good thing. I've been away from the scene for a decade and the designs all look so dated. I expected there to be more small form factor options with some personality and less Honda civic lighting naffness.

If there are twenty other manufacturers pumping out smaller boxes it'll motivate everybody making PC components to design something a little smaller, quieter and less power hungry. If that means a bit more integrated hardware and less upgradeability I'm prepared to live with that because it's inevitable with technology and should drive down prices as well. Consoles stay expensive because there's no competition but that wouldn't be the case with something like this to nearly the same extent. Add in cheaper games and a better ecosystem for indies and consoles look dead in the water.

I am amazed more people dont use PCI-E extenders/risers to enable thin builds/mods.

Only downside MIGHT be that if it is a big success, they might be able to charge whatever they like for AAA games. That being said, I don't think that's the Valve ethos.
