My parents have a free to air system from Lidl that works fine. Recently they were given an old Sky box and got someone to hook it up to the same dish and they have free to air on that too until last week - now it just says no signal. The guy that installed it is too busy to come and have a look at it. Any ideas what we can do to fix it? thanks

Can you test the Sky box at the TV point where the Lidl satellite receiver is located to rule out a problem with the Sky box?

Also check the connections to the Sky box and LNB to ensure they haven't come loose.

If the 2 options above check out ok is there a spare output on the LNB that you can swap the Sky box feed to?

Thanks I will check option 1 tomorrow - Dont know how I didnt think of that
I checked all connections they are seem to be fine.
There are 4 connections on the LNB. I moved it to 1 other and it didnt work so it may be the box. Thanks

It was able to pick up a signal there, so we now know the sky box is ok

So that leaves cable and connectors then, presuming the lnb is ok as you got a signal from the box, unless some of the outputs are kaput

Test the Lidl satellite receiver at the other satellite point.
Test the problem cable on all of the outputs on the LNB.
Remake the connectors on both ends of the cable.

If nothing there sorts out the problem maybe you have a cable problem.
